The three main Strategic Objectives of the AAE are clear guidelines for what we want to achieve as an association and also guides all other AAE activities, including the work we do within the committees and working groups, with our member associations and individual actuaries and our engagement with external stakeholders and partners.
I would like to highlight two aspects of our Strategic Objectives; firstly, we strive to support our member associations in ensuring the high qualification of their members, e.g. by providing easy accessible, high quality and up-to-date knowledge offers. Secondly, we want to strengthen the exchange within the actuarial community across national borders to ensure that the latest results and knowledge are not restricted to only actuaries in individual countries.
Against this background, the AAE board has recently sought the discussion with the member associations during our Annual Meeting in Vienna in October on a central partnership with actuview.
actuview is the international streaming platform for actuaries and provides constantly updated content on a broad range of actuarial topics – for example recordings from large international events such as our own European Congress of Actuaries 2019 in Lisbon in June and the Asian Actuarial Conference 2019 in Singapore in September or regular contributions from a constantly growing number of partners from industry and academia. actuview offers its users a modern way and easy-to-use platform to constantly expand their own knowledge.
Therefore, we are very pleased that we have now formalized the cooperation between the AAE and actuview. The agreement was signed in Brussels on 4 December 2019.
From now on all member associations have the possibility to make the actuview platform and its content accessible to all their members without any further costs. We have recently sent instructions for the implementation as well as accompanying information material to all member associations. We encourage all our member associations to actively promote the free access to actuview to all their individual members.
In addition, the AAE Board would also like to learn how this platform could best support the CPD strategies of our member associations as well as the CPD activities of individual actuaries. We will therefore accompany the starting period with surveys to our member associations and we would be very pleased to receive as much feedback as possible from our members.
