The developments related to the corona virus and the various restrictions imposed by authorities and employers have resulted in the decision of the AAE Board to cancel the physical meetings scheduled to take place in Bratislava. The AAE Board has decided to follow the EU Parliament and Commission’s protocol/advice on this matter. The Commission is recommending missions to be replaced with video conferencing.

In addition, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the global coronavirus crisis is a pandemic, expressing increasing alarm about mounting infections and concerned by ‘alarming levels of inaction‘.

Cancelling the physical AAE Spring Meetings is a major decision, but we believe that it is in the best interest of all AAE delegates. The AAE Board is appreciative of the outstanding commitment and cooperation with the Slovak Society of Actuaries and regrets to have to take this decision.

All meetings scheduled on 2 and 3 April 2020, will now take place online. All delegates have been informed by email of the change from physical to virtual meetings yesterday.
