Dear Members of the Actuarial Community,
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Ad Kok.
Ad was a longstanding and esteemed member of the AAE (formerly Groupe Consultatif), where he held various pivotal roles, including Chairperson in 2007-2008 and Chairperson of the Freedoms Committee (now the Professionalism Committee) from 2002-2006.
Serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the AAE from 2013 to 2019, Ad’s dedication to the development of the actuarial profession was exemplary.
In recognition of his unwavering commitment, he was elected as an AAE Honorary Member in 2021.
Ad’s influence extended well beyond our organization; he was widely respected in the international actuarial community and earned honorary memberships from IFoA (Hon FIA) and the Royal Dutch Actuarial Association (erelid).
We extend our deepest condolences to Ad’s family and loved ones as they navigate this profound loss.
Ad will be remembered as a gentle and capable man, and his absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt.
